A month before previews are scheduled to begin, Signature Theatre Company has announced a one-week extension of its world premiere production of Edward Albee's Occupant, starring Mercedes Ruehl and Larry Bryggman. The entire eight-week run, which begins on May 6, sold out in three days and has been extended through July 6, rather than the previously announced June 29. Opening night at the Peter Norton Space remains June 5, directed by Pam MacKinnon.
Occupant is described as a portrait of acclaimed sculptor Louise Nevelson and a quest to capture a charismatic and complex artist and persona. What is the relationship between creator and creation? Who was Louise Nevelson? Only she knew.
